    2010
    Ultra Tendency's Beginning
    Inspired by the new big data technologies being developed at the time, Robert Neumann and Jan Hentschel found Ultra Tendency as a spin-off of the Institute for Distributed Systems at the university in Magdeburg, Germany
    2013
    New Partnerships Formed
    Having begun as a Microsoft partner, Ultra Tendency adds to the list of partners by forming alliances with Cloudera and Hortonworks to bring Hadoop-based technologies to German enterprises.
    2015
    Open-Source Contributions
    The technical superiority of Ultra Tendency’s output develops into a series of well-respected open-source contributions, for instance the NiFi on Cloudera packet.
    2017
    First Expansion
    Ultra Tendency taps into a pool of top talent by opening a second office in Berlin, Germany.
    2018
    Ultra Tendency Goes International
    Ultra Tendency opens its first international office in Riga, Latvia; soon thereafter, offices are opened in Madrid, Spain.
    2019
    Government & IIoT Ventures
    Ultra Tendency ups the ante by obtaining high profile government and financial contracts and entering the IIoT market, developing a cutting-edge project with Brose.

    Developing Cloud Computing
    Ultra Tendency develops its partnership with AWS further, earning Select Status as partner.
    2022
    Breaking into Asia
    Ultra Tendency founds an office in Kathmandu, Nepal and opens the Asian market to our technical expertise.
    2023
    Increased Engagement with Cloud Computing
    Ultra Tendency excels in Cloud Computing, having earned AWS Advanced Partner status and establishing a partnership with GCP. With Microsoft, Ultra Tendency maintains Gold status for Data & AI and App & Innovation.

    A Passion for Technology and Big Data

    ROBERT

    In 2010, Dr. Robert Neumann founded Ultra Tendency as a spin-off of the Institute for Distributed Systems of Magdeburg University, Germany. Robert's vision was to provide innovative solutions for Big Data infrastructure to generate new value for companies across the world.  

    Ultra Tendency has had a close relationship with Microsoft from the beginning. Robert was a former intern in Redmond and was involved in the development of Azure when it was still called Red Dog.  Ultra Tendency CIO, Jan Hentschel, was a global MVP for Azure from 2013 to 2016. He was also an Azure trainer, which established a close relationship between the two companies.

    At Ultra Tendency, we leverage open-source technologies effectively, because we contribute to the code of more than 25 open-source projects, including Ansible, Terraform, Nifi, Kafka, and more.
